Why I Became the Coochie Doc

I've always been an athlete, a diver through college, with hypermobility and my own share of pelvic floor issues along the way, the same stuff so many women deal with quietly. But that's not what made me take the plunge into this field.

When my sisters became pregnant, I was so excited to become an auntie. But as a travel orthopedic PT at the time, I started noticing the same pattern everywhere I worked: patients with back and hip pain who were pregnant or postpartum, and their pelvic floor was never fully addressed.

A friend of mine suggested I take a pelvic floor course with her. It was an easy yes.

I didn't become the Coochie Doc because of my own pelvic floor journey, I became her because I saw women getting no care for something that mattered this much, and I wanted to change that.

And yeah, the name is intentional. Pelvic health has been wrapped in shame and awkward silence for way too long. Calling myself the Coochie Doc is my way of saying we don't have to whisper about this stuff, we can actually talk about it, laugh about it, and learn something in the process. Healing doesn't have to be heavy.

Since then, I've built a holistic, approachable path to healing, blending advanced pelvic health training, my background in strength and conditioning as an athlete, and my yoga instructor background.

My mission is bigger than any one clinic. It's about reaching more women than four walls ever could, starting with my nieces, so they grow up already knowing what took me years of education to learn.
